Vietnam Moving Wall Committee helps 16 Vietnam Veterans Through Downs Designs Dreams’ Support-A-Veteran Program

This summer “The Moving Wall” Perry Ohio Committee honored the 58,256 veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War by hosting The Vietnam Combat Veterans Memorial “Moving Wall”. Using the leftover funding the committee has now shifted their focus to aiding the Vietnam Veterans in need who returned home. One of the areas the committee chose to address this holiday season was these veteran’s daily living. The committee teamed up with nonprofit Downs Designs Dreams through the organization’s Support-A-Veteran Adopt-A-Jean Program. The teamwork first contributed to a successful “Shop with a Veteran” program last week. Today the combined efforts fueled the completion of a donation request for 16 Vietnam Veterans within The Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center through the program’s partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The organization will continue its mission to aid more veterans through the program as well as form fundraising partnerships, essential to the program’s success.
